This photo was taken on a 9 day Dall sheep hunt. These animals live in incredibly rugged terrain and lugging my heavy camera equipment is difficult; especially with extra hunting gear. Images like these make the weight worth while! I accidentally got within 20 yards of this young ram. He was napping in a small grassy bowl and we both startled each other. He posed for a minute before taking off allowing me to get a few shots off. Getting that close to wildlife and walking away with such a beautiful image is a thrilling experience!
