Alpine Castle - Germany
The Bavarian Alps on a sunny December day. The castle is named "Hohenschawngau" and it is often a neglected viewpoint because of it's proximity to Neuschwanstein. A quick jaunt up the trail on a December day will rid you of the tourists and reward you with a fantastic scene.

Photo Location: Yosemite National Park, California '4-mile trail'
New years eve sunset. It began with blazing oranges and reds reflecting off the granite faces, which then quickly cooled to this tranquil magenta-blue scene. I believe the full-moon and pines framing Half Dome bring a fresh perspective to this often photographed mountain. I feel both grateful and fortunate to have experienced such wonderful photography conditions during my short stay in this region. I rarely shoot popular locations like these but this was an exception. I arrived to the area about an hour before dawn and was the only photographer but by the time I left there had to have been maybe 30 or 40 others lining their tripods up on the shoreline.
An early alpine morning over Mt. Cook in Aoraki National Park, New Zealand. After nearly a week of winds and rain the storms cleared and Mt. Cook was finally in full view.
View of the Arete des Cosmiques just before sunrise. The low light in the morning sometimes allows for magnificent blues, especially if the peaks are shaded from the morning sun. This image was taken during the descent of a successful summit of Mont Blanc in the French Alps.

Mt Everest on the left, and the sun breaking over Nuptse. Photographing this location was a dream come true. It took two weeks of hiking in Nepal to get to this location. I will be honest and say this area is difficult to photograph; the immensity of the mountains is striking in person but difficult to capture. This photo was a perfect culmination of factors and one of my favorite images I have captured.
